Goblin Discrimination in our Nations ad-campaigns

An example from our own nations dark history with the use of Goblin imagery for personal and corporate gain. This exploitation was among the countless other instances of using the marginal position of minorities in our society.

  2. I for one do not understand the concern here. In your reading of the Constitution, are rights actually afforded to slimy, chaotic evil goblinoids, who if taken as a base race afford a full -4 to intelligence? Are they not better suited as an unusually dexterous servant species and as amusing subjects for the deranged experiments of our scientists?

  3. Brett, you are traversing a moral arc that I believe is taking you in a dangerous direction. This nation is predicated on equality. What would you have us do? Subject these wonderous creatures to slavery's cruel yoke because God perhaps failed a saving throw when creating them?

    The plight of goblins (be they hob or otherwise) is no less ghastly than that of the Afro-American in recent history. To claim otherwise is to virtually declare oneself chaotic evil.

  5. I don't like the implication. Individuals of Asian descent are human beings with all the diversity and potential of any other ethnicity. The fact that many Asian immigrants to the United States have found academic and professional success speaks perhaps to the strong work ethic of their home cultures, but not to an inherent intellectual divide. The average intelligence for all humans is 10 to 11, providing neither bonus nor penalty to skill checks.

    The average intelligence for a goblinoid is 6. Not enough to build anything more than the most rudimentary of tools, but enough to understand the difference between right and wrong. Unfortunately, except for the few famous examples of goblin paladins, they are as wicked as gnolls.

    @Brett - Your mistake is relying on your hatred of those that look or smell differently than yourself. It never entered your mind that this is a legal blog, charged with discussing the legal issues surrounding the goblin population. With that said, let us take a look at the Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers were inclusive in their writing when they wrote:

    "All men are by nature equally free and independent, and have certain inherent rights; of which, when they enter into a state of society, they cannot, by any compact, deprive or divest their posterity; namely, the enjoyment of life and liberty, with the means of acquiring and possessing property, and pursuing and obtaining happiness and safety."

    At the time of its writing, Goblins were an undiscovered race. It wasn't until 1842, when Harold Gene of Gene Explosives uncovered the first Goblin city deep beneath Clarks Summit, outside Scranton Pennsylvania, while clearing rock and debris for the railroad. This is surely a tiresome recount of common history, but please allow me a final quote from the Journal of 'Jim,' an African slave that was part of the first expedition into those Goblin caverns:

    "I aint never seen anything like it. These little green MEN (emphasis added) with floppy ears were transporting gold around on minecarts, dartin in and out of hundred a tunnels! The industrious little PEOPLE (emphasis added) had a bee hive of operation goin on, and we was sittin just fine amongst them, welcome to watch and stay as we pleased."

    Well, over a century later, the Goblin race has been torn down by men such as Brett. Men that forgot what a deep and rich heritage the Goblins had before we pulled them from their cavern homes and enslaved them to build our railroads. The question is not what the Constituion says about Goblins, it's how can you turn your back on the atrocities committed against the freedoms of such an industrious and intelligent people.

  7. Let me add: at the time of its writing, the Constitution excluded women and certain races from its wording. As civilization progressed, these oversights were corrected and amendments were made to improve the rights and equality for all people. You will not be able to hold the Goblin down much longer, Brett.
